The Olympic Football Tournaments are in full swing and will move beyond the group stage this week. The women's quarter-finals will be played this coming Friday, 12 August, with the men's last-eight ties to follow the next day. FIFA.com is out in force in Brazil and has a special team in place at every stadium so that you can keep close track of the latest developments and enjoy exclusive interviews, match reports, photos and more besides.

While athletes from around the world strive to claim medals in Rio, several major European leagues are set to start up again. We recently caught up with Nigeria's Alex Iwobi, who is gunning for glory with Arsenal and the Super Eagles as he gears up for his second season in the Premier League. Be sure not to miss the interview with the 20-year-old.

We will also be hearing from another Nigerian this week, namely Jonathan Akpoborie, who will be sharing his memories of his and his team-mates' historic triumph at the FIFA U-16 World Championship (the forerunner of the U-17 World Cup) in 1985, as well as looking back at the country's run to gold at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics. You will also have the chance to discover the fascinating story of Ruslan Nigmatullin, who kept goal for Russia at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™ and is now a DJ.

Speaking of the World Cup, qualifying for Russia 2018 will be resuming shortly and James Kwesi Appiah will be giving his take on Ghana's prospects of making it to the tournament, in addition to discussing his experiences at the 2010 and 2014 editions. We will also be bringing you our monthly progress report on the work underway at the stadiums that will stage matches at the next World Cup and taking you to Ekaterinburg, one of the host cities, for a gourmet stopover.

The 2018 global extravaganza may still be a while off, but the FIFA Futsal World Cup is fast approaching. With just a month to go until the big kick-off, we talked shop with Colombia's star man, Angellot Caro, who told us about his pride at representing his country and how much it will mean to do so on home territory.

Also coming your way over the next few days will be updates on our competitions and all our regular features, not to mention a host of videos, pictures, interviews and profiles. Have a great week on FIFA.com.
